Kay Seurat offers classes in two completely different way of working with metal. Fabrication starts with metal (Sterling Silver, copper and brass) in sheet and wire form which is sawn, filed, sanded, textured, formed, joined by cold connections and/or soldered and finished.
The second technique utilizes PMC (Precious Metal Clay) which consists of microscopic particles of pure silver suspended in an organic binder to create a clay-like material. PMC can be worked with fingers and simple tools to create unique jewelry. When fired in a kiln, the material is 99.9% pure silver!
