The building blocks of fabrication and jewelry construction are covered in this 7-week class, starting with the sawing and moving on through piercing, drilling, filing and sanding; working with wire, chain making, cold connections, surface design, shaping, torches and soldering and setting cabochon stones.
No experience necessary.

Now that you've learned the Basics, it's time to polish your skills.
We'll review using a torch/soldering, and then go through the steps to create a ring or pendant, adding an extra level of interest with some twisted, beaded, stamped or plain wire embellishment.
Experience: Metalsmithing Basics or equivalent (please let me know about your previous experience.)

Now that you've learned the Basics, it's time to refresh your skills.
We'll review using a torch/soldering, and then go through the steps to create several bezel set stones. This repetition will really hone your skills!
We'll also get into extra embellishments as time allows.

Vitreous enamels in a wide range of colors, etc.
Almost instant gratification with this class.....learn to saw out your shapes from copper sheet metal and then learn the basics of the ancient art of vitreous (glass) enamel. With this you will add wonderful colors to your copper shapes. After the enamels are applied, the pieces are kiln-fired to transform the enamel powder into a glass coating.
No experience necessary.
